Homepage

The settings are organised into seven tabs: Header, Alerts, Intro Section, Shortcut Links, Events, Downloads, and Image Block.

Header #

Hero Image — Upload a large image that displays behind the header navigation area. This is the main banner image visitors see when they first land on the site.

Title — By default this is set to “Welcome to XYZ School”. You can style the text using the editor toolbar.

Alerts #

This tab allows you to display alert banners at the very top of the homepage. Alerts appear as full-width bars above all other content and are ideal for important announcements, closures, or urgent notices. You can add up to 10 alerts using the repeater field.

Each alert has the following fields:

  • Message — The alert text displayed to visitors. Supports line breaks for multi-line messages.
  • Severity Level — Controls the appearance of the alert. Choose from:
    • High — Red background with a warning triangle icon. Use for urgent notices such as school closures or emergencies.
    • Medium — Yellow background with an exclamation icon. Use for important but non-critical information.
    • Normal (default) — Blue background with an info icon. Use for general announcements.

Intro Section #

This tab contains three configurable blocks (Block 1, Block 2, Block 3) that appear as a row of cards below the header, plus additional content areas.

Blocks 1–3 #

Each block has the following fields:

  • Background Type — Choose between “Image” or “Colour”.
  • Background Image — Shown when Background Type is set to Image. Recommended size: 1200×800px.
  • Background Colour — Shown when Background Type is set to Colour. Options: Navy, Light Blue, or Light Grey.
  • Title — The heading text displayed on the block.
  • Link — A required link that the block will navigate to when clicked.

Intro Content #

Below the three blocks is a WYSIWYG editor for introductory text. This supports media uploads and full formatting.

Compliance / Partner Icons #

A repeater field that allows up to 4 icons. Each icon has:

  • Icon Image — Upload a small logo or badge image.
  • Icon Link — An optional link for the icon.

Shortcut Links #

Exactly 3 shortcut link cards are displayed on the homepage near the bottom of the page. These appear as horizontal cards with an image on the left and text on the right. Each shortcut has:

  • Image — Displayed on the left side of the card.
  • Title — The heading for the shortcut.
  • Description — A short text description shown below the title.
  • Page Link — The destination URL when the card is clicked.

Events #

This tab controls the Upcoming Events section which pulls events from a Google Calendar.

  • Show Calendar Events — Toggle on/off to enable or disable the events section on the homepage.
  • Google Calendar Email — Enter the Google Calendar email address or calendar ID. This field only appears when calendar events are enabled.
  • Show View All button — Toggle to display a “View All” button in the events header. Only visible when events are enabled.
  • View All Page — Select the page that the “View All” button links to (e.g. a dedicated Calendar page). Only visible when the View All button is enabled.

Downloads #

This tab manages downloadable files shown alongside or below the events section.

  • Show Downloads for Term Times — Toggle to automatically display PDFs from Term Times posts. Note: there must be posts under the Term Times section with PDFs uploaded to them for this to work.
  • Downloads (repeater) — Add manual download blocks. Each block has a Title and a nested list of Downloads, where each download has a File upload and a Title.

Image Block #

This tab provides a fallback image for the events and downloads area.

  • Block Image — Upload an image that will be displayed when all of the following conditions are met: Calendar Events is disabled, Term Times downloads is disabled, and no manual downloads have been added.

This ensures the right-hand column of the homepage is never left empty. The image displays at full height, centred, and set to cover the available space.
